Bug 245946 deals ONLY with dist-upgrade to 8.10 where system sound can be heard, but no others. If you have different symptoms, please do not post them to this bug report. Instead, if the steps below do not resolve your problem, find a closer matching bug report open a new bug report for your issue.
1) Try the fixes detailed in 'HOWTO: PulseAudio Fixes & System-Wide Equalizer Support' at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 . This article really should resolve most of the problems for users who dist-upgraded from 8.04.
If it fixes your problem, please don't post the fact to this bug report - it adds noise. Instead, visit the web page for bug 245946 and simply unsubscribe yourself from the bug.
2) If that doesn't work, then please include the information requested from the "Reporting Sound Bugs" section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems as separate attachments.
Thanks in advance. |
