Comment 83 for bug 190754

 I've tried increasing the buffer size by increasing the number of fragments and/or increasing fragment size in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf ; and giving pulse higher priority. There is also an option in daemon.conf to not limit the cpu pulse uses which I also tried. None of these seemed to have much effect. If anything, increasing the buffer size helped a little bit.
