Installed the latest driver https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ubuntu/alsa-daily/+packages for 16.04, deb file https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ubuntu/alsa-daily/+sourcepub/6439770/+listing-archive-extra
and rebooted and it seems i am getting proper sound, full stereo , will test more.
