I sent a email to alsa-devel, but i wish to say that the volume reset bug seems to be a problem across many soundcards NOT only Realtek. Tried Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10, 13.04 alpha live cds on my and dad's computer. With Asus Xonar Essence STX i get same volume reset bug shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7dBJkviD4Y&t=00m15s
