I think we need to adapt some tests to work properly with that new code.
I agree with the change in terms of SRU considerations.
It is right to fix the FE/BE protocol, the only thing that should be affected are testcases like the ones I found - so maybe some CIs might break, but not more.
I'm checking if the other test breakage I saw might be due to the same change.
