Just attempted sudopod's fix on an Intrepid system. After restarting gdm and logging in via NX Nomachine the "unlock" button in the "Users Settings" applet is now available. Upon clicking it, I get an error message that says "Could not authenticate - An unexpected error has occurred."

I don't know how to run the "Users Settings" applet from a terminal to get more information.
