at first, I have nothing todo with ubuntu .... I'm just the maintainer of the package in the Debian distribution, where the package is used by Ubuntu without any changes. So I can nothing do for you within ubuntu.

Anyways ... back to the problem. Jaunty doesn't need to be fixed, it is fixed allready. (see http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=policyd-weight) So you problem is just hardy. I wouldn't say, this little problem qualifies for an update for a allready released distribution, but thats just my personal opinion. In debian we did decided[1] not to update the package for stable.
