Bug Description
I've downloaded and installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on my system a week ago. My system also has windows installed. But whenever I try to restart the system with ubuntu, to complete my installation, A blank screen appears and I get the warning :
"GLib-Warning: **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)"
and the computer gets stuck up and I'm forced to reboot from windows. What is this problem? What is its solution?
My system did not boot into ubuntu at all until now! Gets stuck everytime.

I have the same error message during boot-process with a clean install of 10.04 (x64).
But the system comes up, if I boot without external HDMI monitor connected. I'm able to boot with the external monitor if I do the following:
- Press "E" in GRUB startup page
- Add option "noplymouth" at the end of the line
- Boot with that option, pressing "Strg+X"
Unfortunately I got a very low screen resolution (640x480) after that, but this seems to be another problem.
Please check if you can start your system with the above workaround. Thanks!
