GLib-Warning: **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)

A fatal error during ubuntu 10.04 installation shows up and the computer won't work any further.?

I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on my system a week ago. My system also has windows installed. But whenever I try to restart the system with ubuntu to complete my installation, A blank screen appears and I get the warning "GLib-Warning: **: getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id (0)" and the computer gets stuck up and I'm forced to reboot from windows. What is this problem? What is its solution?
My system did not boot into ubuntu at all until now! Gets stuck everytime.
