I also get the same error GLIB WARNING ** GLib - getpwuid_r(): failed due to unknown user id
when trying to install kubuntu from a CD. I've tried 4 times without any success.
Config: mini-pc, mother board INTEL DH57JG
Note: I've just bought this computer without OS thinking that linux ditributions are mature enough for the desktop. I guess I was wrong as this bug has been aroundfor several months. Will have to buy another OS better tested ....
