When shutting down from X, the splash screen is corrupted; only part of the Ubuntu logo is displayed, and it's rendered on top of a screen full of boot-time console messages. When shutting down from the console, I don't appear to have this problem.
I'm using the intel X driver with KMS on an i945GM chip.
