The userspace part of this bug is coming from our systemd patch:

  debian/fsckd-daemon-for-inter-fsckd-communication.patch

In particular where systemd-fsckd.service says:

  StandardOutput=journal+console

Is the patch still required at all, or can it be reordered to wait for Plymouth to splash first?
