This bug also affects Xubuntu's amd64 alternate image.
I'd have to rate the bug as pretty serious (if I had the power to do so). Unless I'm very much mistaken a new ISO needs to be spun up.
In case the implications of this bug are not clear:
1. Everyone who runs the built in integrity check will see it fail.
2. Everyone who attempts a normal alternate installation will see their installation fail after wasting an hour or so.
In short this really needs to be fixed for 12.04, and almost certainly deserves immediate attention.
