It seems it is related to shared folders. He told me that everytime he talked to me, Windows Live Messenger asked him to create a shared folder, and on my side, Gaim crashes...

Gaim seems to crash every time my friend sends me an emoticon which is an animated GIF (I think). It's OK with ordinary static emoticons. It has crashed about 5 times this morning.

Revision history for this message
Mike Lea-Wilson (mikelw) wrote :

A correction to my previous post: It doesn't seem to be the animation that causes the problem. The standard emoticons with animation are (of course) OK (e.g. crying, winking), but some non-standard ones with no animation are also causing it to crash. It MAY be to do with the size of the image, which for a lot of these non-standard ones is larger than the standard ones. When I'm back on Windoze, I'll see if I can collect up a few of the problem ones, and post them here.
