The one relevant modification that I have setup in my machine is that I run Xgl & Beryl.
Also, when the crash happened my friend had just sent me one of those automated messages "Hey, look at these photos - (random link to something really evil)", probably generated from a virus, trojan or something like that at her side. however, she said that she received a similar message from me, at the same time. I'm positive that my PC is free of viruses and trojans, as I'm really careful about what I install, and this is a Linux box after all.
