I replied to the email notice, but I have not seen it show up yet, so I'll repeat myself.

I am using AIM. I've shut down Pidgin until I can get another system put together for work.

I'm glad to here that the Pidgin dev site is not responsive due to upgrades :) I am old fashioned and tend to think that the project should deal with issues and not the distro. I have to remember how sophisticated the organizations behind some distros have become. With the time and effort Canonical has put in their product, it makes sense that they should get the first bug report.
