Usually, I can change the size of the area where I type (the box underneath the actual conversation). I upgraded from the previous Ubuntu release to the current one and I can no longer do this (small and nit-picky perhaps but it's still aggravating)

I can confirm this - not sure if its a duplicate, but definitly a problem on my Xubuntu install of Pidgin (same kernel, pidgin version # as parent)
