Bug Description
Binary package hint: pcmciautils
This bug has similarities to bug 506467. When inserted, suspend and restart are corrupted as my system either goes into and endless cycle of sleep/wake/sleep etc. until I cold boot again. Restart also is inhibited.
The device is a four port USB root hub, manufactured by TRENDware. The model is a TRENDnet USB 2.0 CardBus PC Card, TU2-H4PC. When booting it works fine: I have to unplug it before restarting or suspending to avoid grief.
I have both pcmciautils and udev enabled on boot. It was a problem in Lucid until I enabled pcmciautils, but not udev. I just tried enabling udev to see if it would help, but I didn't see any difference.
