Thank you for your concerns. And yes I understand, however in Ubuntu the sync is done by an Ubuntu Archive Admin. The process is as follows:
1. Request Sync
2. If subscriber is not a core dev or MOTU, subscribe to ubuntu-sponsors for an ACK. (In my case i'm just a MOTU)
3. Once package is ACK'ed, subscribe to ubuntu-archive
4. Archive admin will proceed with the sync from debian (sync the source package)
