This is really an improvement. It's really an installation stopper for people new to linux/ubuntu if people can't figure out something trivial like 'where is my drive/partition?' / 'how do I mount this/that drive?'

You might want to consider pointing people at the fdisk / mount commands in the fstab file, this might help them even further on the way.
