Those messages seem much more sensible.
For "bad_new_size" do you need to mention the default unit is bytes (is it?) - may be this should be clarified. (You could waffle on about all the different synactical varients supported but that may be over the top).
Not having used this for a while I would also hope in maybe a future patch to propose minimum and maximum possible sizes in response to the error. But I guess that could be for the next revision ;-)
