Binary package hint: debian-installer

I have a ubuntu 7.10 beta server I'd like to reinstall from scratch. During the disk partitioning, I'd opted for "Guided - Use entire disk and setup LVM" Part way through it informed me that the volume group name was already in use. Surely this option should setup a new LVM instance and use the entire disk, even if a LVM instance already existed?

How can I blank this without manually having to create volumes? I think this is a bug
