I can confirm that this typo is still present in openssh 1:7.4p1-6 on Ubuntu Zesty, more specifically in the file clientloop.c. It looks like this issue isn't introduced by packaging in Debian/Ubuntu, but seems to be in openssh itself. I wonder if a fix should be forwarded there.
