but it appears this combobox is specific to the ooo-build for OpenOffice.org. Here is the summary of the report:

On the default-toolbar is a dropdown list. where you can select the zoomlevel of the current workspace. If you click on it and selecte a value from the list, everything works as expected. BUT: if you place the mouse over it and wheelup or wheeldown, the value changes (as expected) but the workspace does not update its zoomlevel.

I have confirmed that this bug exists in OOo 2.4.
