i am a web developer and made a php class to create xmlss files. i have had this lockup in openoffice v2.2/windows, 2.3/ubuntu7.10, and 3.0rc4/ubuntu7.10. it seems to be related to larger files. the files open in ms excel 2003/2007. this has to be an openoffice problem, not os specific to affect linux and windows through many versions. i am attaching a simple xml spread sheet file (one that demonstrates this issue, and opens fine in excel).
