maddoxflower, thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I could not reproduce this problem in Ubuntu 11.04, LibreOffice Impress at the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/668397/+attachment/1715792/+files/oobug.odp && loimpress -nologo oobug.odp

Under Tasks click Custom Animation -> click second animation entry top to bottom entitled Shape 2 -> Start After Previous -> click third animation entry top bottom entitled Shape 1: Appears on click Disappears on second click, instead a smiley appears -> Start on Click -> F5 -> click Space Bar notice both rectangle & smiley appear -> click Space Bar notice rectangle disappears, smiley remains -> click Space Bar presentation ends
