This was triggered by http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=aa9af08b389a106fcfb53842ac7669b208a27205 specifically the sd/source/core/stlpool.cxx rSet.Put( SdrTextAutoGrowHeightItem(FALSE) ); line which causes the xmloff to call some reset property stuff on import which causes the box to recalculate itself as mhofmann describes
