Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

The Openoffice.org splash screen is shown, then Openoffice.org crashes with segmentation fault. I've tried to remove the ~/.openoffice.org directory and trying another user with no luck. This is an Ubuntu 10.04 updated from 9.10. Here is the console output:

brtolu@brtolu-laptop:~$ oowriter
Segmentation fault

brtolu@brtolu-laptop:~$ oocalc
Segmentation fault

Thanks for reporting the bug and helping make Ubuntu/OpenOffice better. Please try:
1. make sure openoffice is closed
2. remove openoffice completely by, sudo apt-get remove --purge openoffice.org* ure uno-libs3
3. Reboot (or logoff) for good measure.
4. Reinstall OpenOffice by, sudo apt-get install openoffice.org-calc openoffice.org-draw openoffice.org-emailmerge openoffice.org-gnome openoffice.org-gtk openoffice.org-impress openoffice.org-math openoffice.org-style-human openoffice.org-writer

Please report back if this helps solve the issue (or if it doesn't).

Hi all,

I have the same issue with OpenOffice.org.

roman@rdronov:~$ uname -a
Linux rdronov 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:27:30 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

roman@rdronov:~$ openoffice.org
Segmentation fault

The system has been installed since Lucid Beta and after that updated to RC and Release logically.

There is an ubuntu-bug report in the attachment.

Regards,
Roman
