I confirm this on my Kubuntu Karmic AMD64 install. This is possibly related to bug 463901.

Changed in openoffice.org (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

Just for clarity: this problem also disappears when removing openoffice.org-kde.

Got the same problem! Just try to run: Tools->Options->Extensions Manager and "check for updates". Openoffice crashes then. The problem disappears when removing openoffice.org-kde. Is there a new version of openoffice.org-kde available? The problem exists on 32 and 64 bit.
This bug is also affecting some extensions of openoffice

Merging with bug 508441 since it has a better backtrace.
