Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Release: Kubuntu 9.10
Package: openoffice.org 1:3.1.1-5ubuntu1

As soon as a spreadsheet includes some cells of data and easy formulaes it is no longer possible to select and move multiple cells. The application closes immediately.

I attach a simple document which produces this error. Whenever I select the yellow cells and try to move them by dragging with the mouse Calc crashes.

Thank you for your help!

I just found the problem is fixed by removing the package openoffice.org-kde.
Anyway, openoffice does not look that pretty afterwards.

I can confirm this bug and that it disappears when removing openoffice.org-kde on my AMD64 Karmic install. (And that that makes OOo look like it's being run in wine :( )

I have exactly the same problem.
I am also affected by Bug 457220 which crashes oowriter when saving notes in .doc format. Maybe this two Bugs are connected somehow.

Is this still an issue with a recent release of Ubuntu/Openoffice/Libreoffice?

suboptimist, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. I was unable to reproduce this problem in Ubuntu 11.04, LibreOffice Calc at the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/463901/+attachment/902498/+files/crashing.ods && localc -nologo crashing.ods

Highlighted I12 through I14 -> dragged and dropped to H12.

Sorry guys. Some time ago I switched form KDE to Gnome. So I'm no longer able to reproduce this error. Maybe some of the other guys that confirmed the problem can try again.
