arky, is this an issue for you in LibreOffice? If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to type at the Terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer libreoffice-calc libreoffice-impress
