open office crashes when open a document

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Not a specific document, it crashes when I try "open" command. It happens in whatever writer, Spreadshet, etc.

The same thing happens to me after a recent upgrade of OpenOffice on Kubuntu (x86-based). OpenOffice gets as far as starting to display the document and crashes. No core dump is left behind.

I have gone as far as deleting the ~/.openoffice.org2 didn't help. I also completely purged and re-installed all OpenOffice software on my machine; nothing changed. At this point, OpenOffice is completely unusable. :-(
