OpenOffice applications don't start anymore

Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I didn't change anything in system configuration (maybe a OpenOffice update from the update manager, I don't read the update list any time and normally install all updates), and now my OpenOffice applications don't start anymore.

The splash screen appears and the progress bar continues, but then it stops with this message (on console):

$ oowriter
javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!
$ Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:

I get the same "javaldx: Could not find a Java Runtime Environment!" but openoffice opens just fine. I do have java-common, SunJava6 and openjdk installed and am running Intrepid amd64 (not 8.04).

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
This one looks to be a problem similar to the one reported in Bug #238628.
Can someone confirm this please.

bliZZardz: No, my problem is not related to the "save" function. In fact, I can't even try to save a document because my OpenOffice applications don't start at least.

1) can you please try with any of the following :
  $openoffice -writer
or
  $ ooffice -writer
or
  $ ooffice -writer %U
or
  $ sudo openoffice -writer

2) if #1 does not work:
    can you rename the folder ".openoffice.org2" to something else and reinstall OpenOffice again.

3) if #1 and #2 do not work, try :
    $ sudo chown -R [your-username] .openoffice.org2

1) Doesn't help (Writer doesn't start)
2) Doesn't help (Writer doesn't start). I even deleted ~/.openoffice.org2. dpkg-reconfigure openoffice.org-base-core didn't help too.
3) Doesn't help (especially since I deleted .openoffice.org2)
