glandux, thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. This issue was unreproducible using Ubuntu 11.04, LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal:

cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/157249/+attachment/2119738/+files/bug-440795_for-upload.odt && lowriter -nologo bug-440795_for-upload.odt

on Page 1 type 09 -> click Tools -> Options... -> Load/Save -> General -> change Save AutoRecovery information every combo box to 1 -> OK button

notice the AutoRecovery save progress bar occurs after 1 minute at bottom, no errors.
