OK, excuse my "MS Windows mind-set" here.
Programs, OO, gEdit, Firefox etc can "Show hidden files" and it's
available to all programs - except Natalus and Thunar
"closing - MS Windows mind-set"

Still doesn't seem logical to me, but it's Linux, I'll get use to it. :)
I'm really new to Linux.

Could it be a bug with the "file manager" type programs?
After all, they to have the ability to Show/Don't show hidden files as
well, but are not affected by what other programs do.

Thanks for your response.
Have a nice day.
