Confirmed with Ubuntu 10.10 64bit.

OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.2) (6b20-1.9.2-0ubuntu2)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 19.0-b09, mixed mode)

Way to reproduce the problem.
1. Change home page to Google and bookmark " https://verkkopankki.sampopankki.fi/html/index.html?site=SBNBFI&secsystem=E2 "

2. Restart firefox.

3. Click on the bookmark.

When java applet starts firefox either hangs or crashes.

Workaround.
1. Remove Icedtea and OpenJDK.
2. Install sun-java6-plugin

With these instructions everything works as expected.
