The bug persists in Jaunty (with all updates applied)!

It depends on the locale you use, though, as you can see in the picture attached.

From left to right:
1. Sun Java with default locale (pt_PT.UTF-8)

2. OpenJDK6 with default locale (pt_PT.UTF-8)

3. OpenJDK6 with another locale (pt_PT.iso-8859-15)

In all file boxes I typed the same letters ('çá').
