Ok, let us retain the old path with a compat link "for now" meaning 21.10 impish and then related backports. I'm also interested what Bzed thinks about it and will throw him a PR to comment on once I have implemented this.
But at the same time we need to spawn a cloud-init bug tasks on this to be able to work with the correct future paths for 22.04 at least.
