2012-02-11 11:51:20 Philip Muškovac summary Background in gtk applications is rendered wrong after logging out in KDE Application rendering broken after logging out in KDE
2012-02-11 11:51:56 Philip Muškovac description With nvidia 290 (and I think some 2XX version before that) after logging out and in again in KDE applications are rendered wrong. In GTK it seems to be mostly the background, resulting in a full-transparent gnome-terminal or white background being shown as black in firefox or thunderbird (see screenshot) and text selection being invisible. Another application that's affected is ksnapshot here (Qt), but I haven't seen a pattern for Qt applications. reproducability on the 2 PC's I tried this on: nvidia 290: happens after 1 or 2 tries nouveau: unreproducable intel: unreproducable ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: nvidia-current 290.10-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-15.24.ppa1-generic 3.2.5 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-15-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia .proc.driver.nvidia.gpus.0: Error: [Errno 21] Is a directory: '/proc/driver/nvidia/gpus/0' .proc.driver.nvidia.registry: Binary: "" .proc.driver.nvidia.version: NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86_64 Kernel Module 290.10 Wed Nov 16 17:39:29 PST 2011 GCC version: gcc version 4.6.2 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.2-12ubuntu1) ApportVersion: 1.91-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: kwin Date: Sat Feb 11 12:20:49 2012 DistUpgraded: Fresh install DistroCodename: precise DistroVariant: kubuntu GraphicsCard: NVIDIA Corporation GT218 [NVS 3100M] [10de:0a6c] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:215c] InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta amd64 (20111007) JockeyStatus: xorg:nvidia_current - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) xorg:nvidia_current_updates - NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (post-release updates) (Proprietary, Disabled, Not in use) MachineType: LENOVO 4349W1R ProcEnviron: SHELL=/bin/bash PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8 ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-15-generic root=UUID=408b8f9a-b069-445f-86ba-3d9c5cbd75a1 ro SourcePackage: nvidia-graphics-drivers UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) dmi.bios.date: 10/26/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 6MET81WW (1.41 ) dmi.board.name: 4349W1R dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr6MET81WW(1.41):bd10/26/2010:svnLENOVO:pn4349W1R:pvrThinkPadT510:rvnLENOVO:rn4349W1R:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 4349W1R dmi.product.version: ThinkPad T510 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz N/A version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.30-1ubuntu1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 8.0~rc2-0ubuntu5 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 8.0~rc2-0ubuntu5 version.nvidia-graphics-drivers: nvidia-graphics-drivers N/A version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.6.99.901-1ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.14.99~git20111219.aacbd629-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.17.0-1ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20111201+b5534a1-1build2 With nvidia 290 (and I think some 2XX version before that) after logging out and in again in KDE applications are rendered wrong.
