I didn't say that. All I said was that if an experiment shows that using the same driver, xserver 1.8 is fast and xserver 1.9 is slow, that it's not reasonable to immediately assume that the problem is in the driver. It's still possible for the problem to be in the driver, but we now have one point of circumstantial evidence that it's not (except that you just contradicted your earlier posts by saying that 256.44 is *not* slow with xserver 1.9). Somebody needs to do some more investigation to say for sure one way or the other. I don't have time to look at it right now, I'm afraid.
