I noticed the bios-outdated tag, so I've updated the BIOS on my laptop to the latest one offered by Lenovo, which is 2.57. I re-tested with 2014-Mar-13 and experienced the exact same results.

The daily builds for the 16th and 17th won't boot on my laptop.
