I'm needing the 96 driver too (Old MX400 card). Noveau drivers just not giving me the performance I need.
I am probably going to try the #7 & 8 suggestion. It is a new build PC so if I wreck it not much lost. Can always start again (and maybe try a different graphics card if I have anything newer or an (ATI or SIS card).
