@Bib: The 100.14.23 driver is an old version from October 2007 and is not fitting your hardware.
As you can see from ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/100.14.23/README/appendix-a.html it supports GeForce 6*, GeForce 7*, GeForce 8* and Geforce FX cards, but not the GeForce2 and Geforce4.

@all: Why isn't there a task for nvidia-graphics-drivers-96 ?
