who tried the new nvidia96 drivers? im using the new release and i have a little more higher FPS (363 FPS against 235 of nouveau) maybe a faster performance but some visualization problems in firefox, for example in ubuntu forum pages and youtube search field is bit flickering; also in Totem, when i play mp3, the visual effects are shown with a line cutting the field from top right to bottom left. im using nvidia geforce2 mx400
also im using gnome-classic (no effect), because with effect, the frames of the windows arn't visible (with nouveau was working fine)

just another question: if i want to uninstall package libgl1-mesa-dri (it give 3D support for nouveau), it ask me to remove also xorg and ubuntu-desktop; should i leave installed, or should i remove from non-graphic mode and then reinstall xorg and ubuntu-desktop?

ps: about my comment #121 i managed to set the best resolution for my monitor adding a metamode in nvidia-settings
