Hello Hans, You can just remove the vivid kernel by removing those packages that the wiki page ask you to install. And reboot, you will be running on Trusty kernel again.
BTW the Vivid kernel will reach EOL on Aug. 2016, see: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack#Kernel.2BAC8-Support.A14.04.x_Ubuntu_Kernel_Support
