@jtholmes: do you have any news about this bug? you were going to give details on how to use a new kernel which would fix it. how is that going?

i already gave up jaunty at work, cause it's not really productive to use a computer that you have to reboot twice a day for a crash. I'm still resisting at home, though. I've got very different hardware in both, but the same behaviour.

please, give us some information about the status of this bug, cause i will have to switch to another distro if you are not planning to fix it right now.
