My laptop is a Dell Precision M90 which is actually an XPS M1710 but designed for the business market (aesthetic changes). It normally ships with an nVidia Quadro but I upgraded it to an nVidia Go 7950 GTX. So it looks like we all use the same laptop and the same video card. I haven't tried your fix stoneybridge, but I'll take a look.
