I don't have obvious problems with unity, however I also get the message that the current nVidia driver is active but not in use.

glxinfo|grep render:
direct rendering: Yes

glxgears works and spits out more than 7000 frames per second but looks nothing like smooth. It's as if the gears are hardly moving. Very jerky appearance.

What other info shall I provide?
