Using Kubuntu 9.04 with all patches to date are applied. Noticed when I navigate to:
System -- System Settings -- Date & Time
when I check the "Set date and time automatically" checkbox, click the Apply button, and then exit, it does not retain the setting. If you navigate away from "Date & Time" in the System Settings panel (like returning to Overview), it will retain the setting (stay checked) until you exit System Settings.
I verified that only the ntpdate package is installed, not the ntp package. I've not installed the ntp package yet as buntunub did above.

I'm using the PPA at http:// ppa.launchpad. net/kubuntu- ppa/ppa/ ubuntu to obtain a later KDE version (4.2.3). This PPA fixed a problem I had with Kontact contacts.
