Yes, I do see this this message. And guess what, on this boot it worked as
expected. Then I tried once more, and it also worked.

I am 100% sure that I already had the latest hotplug version installed on the
last time synch failure. So it looks like there is still some sort of race
condition.

I'll closely watch and will let you know if it happens again.
